Summary

A last embrace is an installation celebrating the love for ourselves to reach immortality through the means of technology. This steel structure represents the human man locked in a lover’s embrace with a female robot.

Physical Description

The project consists of the main steel structure, being that of the man which supports the female robot’s weight. The steel that composes the man is heaver in order to provide an overall support for the structure. The female robot consists of a combination of a steel frame structure and OKALUX panels that provide reflections during daylight and are able to glow during the night. Between them there are white LED lights that emphasize the idea of transfer of energy.

Are you still here….love?

The story that we’ll tell our future generations might be different but this one is to be framed in dust and immortalized in our memories as what it could be. One last embrace symbolizing a deep routed love between the next evolutionary stage of our species and the older version of ourselves. As we say “I love you…and goodbye” to our old selves and our mortal bodies(machines), we transfer and transcend our energies (souls) to the AI that we have created and have further developed their . This moment, symbolized by this humanly embrace, is at the same time a symbol of love and a symbol of goodbye. As the creator falls in love with his creation, so we will fall in love with the AI’s that we create.
